Getty Graduate Internships

Full-time positions at the Getty for recent graduates in a variety of areas including the Getty’s library and special collections. Internships are typically eight months beginning the following September through May.

Wolfgang M. Freitag Internship Award

Provides funding ($3,000) for a 150-hour internship at an institution arranged by the applicant. For students currently enrolled in or recently completed a graduate program in an area such as library science.

Gerd Muehsam Award
Applications typically due around November
Recognizes excellence in a graduate student paper or project on a topic relevant to art librarianship. The prize includes a $500 award to the student, up to $300 to travel to the annual ARLIS/NA conference, and opportunities to share and present the awarded work.

Sotheby’s Institute of Art Research Award

Recognizes excellence in a student paper or digital art history project on a topic relevant to collecting or the art market. The prize includes a $3,000 award to the student, up to $1,000 to travel to the annual ARLIS/NA conference, and opportunities to share and present the awarded work.

Kress Fellowship at the Haas Arts Library (Yale University)
