Open Call for Submissions for Artifacts 2020 Spring Conference

Artifacts is pleased to announce our Open Call for Submissions for our 2020 Spring Conference (date TBD). The deadline to submit is January 1, 2020.

The conference format will include panels, art performances, and short film screenings. We are open to many forms of content: critical essays and papers, project presentations, fine art bodies of work, short films, and interviews. The conference will feature presentations of work by a mix of graduate students and new professionals.

We are accepting proposals spanning (but not limited to):
• Emerging trends and issues in arts librarianship
• Intersections of art and archives
• Teaching and learning with artist books
• Labor, power, and privilege
• Open access and intellectual property
• Preservation challenges of artworks, including digitization
• Collaborative relationships between artists and art librarians
• Sustainability in art and design libraries and archives
• Collections as data
